Liu Jie, Secretary-General of China Coatings Industry Association, made a report on the progress of the global coatings market and the economic operation of China's coatings industry.
Liu Jie analyzed the development of China's macroeconomy and key downstream coatings in China, the development of China's coatings/pigments industry, and the progress and outlook of the national coatings market.
In view of the development of the key downstream of the coating industry, he elaborated on the development of the real estate industry, automotive industry, machinery industry, shipbuilding industry, container industry, furniture industry and other aspects.
In response to the development of China's coatings and pigment industry, Liu Jie said that from January to July 2023, the total output of the coating industry was 20.103 million tons, an increase of 4.6% over the same period of the previous year, and the output of this month was 9.0% lower than that in June. From January to July, the total income of main business was 225.13 billion yuan, down 5.2% from the same period last year, and the total profit was 13.17 billion yuan, an increase of 17.6% over the same period of the previous year, and the main business income this month decreased by 13.51% month-on-month, and the total profit increased by 21.86% month-on-month.
Looking forward to the whole year, in the second half of 2023, the coating industry will generally maintain steady growth, compared with the average level of 2021 and 2022, the output will increase by 1-2%; Main business income growth of -1%; Total profit increased by approximately -3.8%.
